I would firstly like to extend my most sincere condolences any family and friends of the person involved. This has been an extremely tragic incident, which should not have happened.
However, we now have a situation whereby police are having to defend themselves for having to shoot a suspected (if wrong) bomber who ran from armed police officers.
Now I am all for the innocent until proven guilty and that police should only use necessary force, however, lets be serious.
There's just been several bombings (for the second time) on a London underground tube station. Police are rampant in the area as security is high, most especially regarding bags/rucksacks etc.
You happen to be carrying one, perhaps the nearby police shout/say something which, perhaps, you don't quite here. Common sense would dictate that you, not having anything to hide, would stop and wait to see what they want.
You know what's happened, and you know what stress everyone is under, it makes sense to have a bit of forebearence, right?
No... apparently sprinting away from armed officers onto a tube train appeared the best idea.
Now, granted these officers were plain clothed, however I would hope that they identified themselves before chasing and gunning down the accused. Certainly they made sure that other tube passengers were aware that they had to 'get down' before opening fire.
If they did not then I sincerely apologise and the officers in question should be relieved of duty and placed in custody.
If not then, with the most greatest of respect to anyone involved, the officers were acting with the interests of larger public in mind and did what they thought was necesary to avoid a recurrence of what happened.
I would love to be proven wrong on what I have seen, as it is a sad day when such happens and therefore welcome what criticsm, views and general remarks, bad or not, people have.[/url]
