Democrats have already planned for the elections...

First, unless there are levels of theft and fraud that would truly mean the end of American democracy, a Democratic House seems as close to a sure thing as we ever get in American politics three days before an election.
I hear tale there's already lawyers standing by in District 22 to file lawsuits if the Dems lose. Again.

Why can't Americans grow up?
So, being wary of undocumented and proven unreliable electronics and machinery is a bad thing?
We on the losing side should just believe the powers that be and not want to check things out for ourselves?
No thanks, if we lose again, that's fine, but I don't see anything wrong with asking a few questions to make sure that we lost fair and square.
Just a bi-partisan note, if more people voted absentee, this bullcrap surrounding the voting machines could be a thing of the past. It also might help to make voting a more accessible process. I say this to all people, not as a liberal or conservative.

I think that too is subject to fraud, though.
In all honesty, I think the only sure-fire way to prevent voter fraud is through some sort of physical ID system that ties your vote to you physically (fingerprint, implanted RFID, etc.). But then again, I suppose you run into the possibility of software hackers.
Its a difficult matter to rectify. One would hope that after 200+ years we'd have been able to work out the bugs. But it seems that even advanced technology creates as many bugs as it fixes!
Respectfully,
M

Of course it's not. But saying

.. "Of course we've already won this election! We shouldn't even allow the actual voting, that can only screw things up."
or
Quote:
"the only way the GOP--who've won 7 of the last 10 presidential elections--can win is by cheating!".
is.
Personally I couldn't care less about US elections, but I was shocked by how low things are: http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/archives/8968.html

The NRCC has decided to make repeated robo-calls to households late in the evening or early in the morning, when they expect people to be sleeping and most annoyed by the calls. When someone answers, they're led to believe the call is coming from Democrat Paul Hodes' campaign: "Hello, I'm calling with information about Paul Hodes." Most hang up, thinking that the Hodes campaign was responsible for the call. If they keep listening, they'll hear a dishonest smear of Hodes. At the very end of the call, which few seem inclined to sit through, it's disclosed that the NRCC is responsible for the call.
From what I have read from many sources the US elections are very much manipulated.
I hope the Democrats can take some of the power from G Wubelyu Bush this time election.

I think you're right, most Americans are immature, but then again, so are most humans
Damn I love the Brits...
And I'm surprised that FriHost, being as democrat as it is, hasn't flooded the board with "Dems Control Congress" posts.
As Democratic as some members on Frihost may be (I really can't say how many are... most of them are just against the Iraq war... that doesn't make them Democrats, you know), they don't go running off to make 10 threads every time the Democrats do something right and the Republicans do something wrong, which really can't be said about some Republicans here, now can it?

I'm sure FriHost doesn't have any specific political alignment.
If you meant majority of FriHost members are democrats, perhaps you don't realize that most of them are not even Americans.
p.s. - Are you really "surprised" by the lack of democratic propaganda threads here?
What better place to express your "surprise" than this very thread!

It's not because a lot of people here don't like Bush and his policy, that they must love the democrats. Most anti-Bush feelings are because of the war in Iraq and (if I'm not mistaken) quite a few democrats voted for the war.
And the mid-term elections in the USA are not a big news topic in the rest of the world. They aren't that important either as only a few new people got elected.

Perhaps this is the best logic to describe the US election's outcome. Although, I'm not an american nor an arab. US election result does have little impact on me. But, I really hate the Bush war strategy. War is not a solution, and he should uderstand it. And I hope that right now he will do so as his party lost majority both in Senate and House.

Lots of things have been solved by wars over the course of history.
Of course Republicans cheat. That's the only way they could possibly win. They got so used to winning that they took it for granted. This time they got lazy, and forgot that cheating is hard work. Next time they will remember to cheat harder.
i am glad the republicans lost control of congress. Hopefully the white house will be next. I mean really, what the hell did people expect from a congress that followed everything their silly leader did? A complete mess is what you can expect and that's exactly what we have now!! Anyone who thought Iraq wouldn't turn out to be a mess is/was on drugs or simply doesn't like using their head!
Not that there will be radical changes with a democrat-controlled congress, but it is definitely a step in the right direction!

Nope. Two years with their current leaders will be more than enough time for the Americans to see just how ef'd up they are.
Look at what they've already said, and they haven't taken power yet. They're imploding at a very rapid rate because the few leaders (the wacked out ones), are way too radical for the rest of them.
My money's on a Republican controlled Senate and White House in two years, possibly the House too.
BTW, what is this 'mess' you're talking about? The Iraqi mess that is only getting negative coverage? Ha! There's so much good stuff going on there it's sobering. There's only violence in like 3 or 4 provinces. (I think there's like 18 country wide). They've had elections.
Yeah, civil war may happen. But so far, it's moving along quickly in comparison to the birth of most other democratic countries.

I second that opinion ...
