S video is a standard that just never really developed properly.
I think it's stupid.
It only has a video signal.
You still have to hook up other audio cables.
S video does the same thing as the yellow connector in a composite set.
About the only thing that is stupider than S video are optical connectors.
Optical connectors get dust in them and loose connectivity.
YMMV
A general video component signal (analog).
Probably, your videocard can output a video signal (e.g. DVD video or XviD/DivX video) to a TV in a proper way (with all the required computer-analog video conversion).
It's a very good feature.
it is used in DVD. for example other lanague DVD Movie display their speech in english. that for we using S-Video. we can off that display, and also display custome message from our computer. it is used by the local cable operator to display advertisements..
