My windows explorer crashes when it tries to preview certain video files. It used to work fine but recently it has started crashing when previewing video files from my digital camera.
Windows Explorer freezes during preview of certain videos
Could it be a codec problem?
I uninstalled ffdshow from my machine and it worked again. But a different type of video is being effected.
I don't know what's the best and stable codec pack to date. If anyone knows, please post.

The problem is most likely to be caused by a misbehaving codec. If you are looking for an application that supports almost all codecs out there, then try the K-Lite Codec Pack. The URL for the website is:
http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/

Another one is Cole2KMedia - Codec Pack.
Easy to find on net.

I strongly advise that codec pack, it's very good.
