False Christ from Puerto Rico with headquarters in Miami

Traveller
José Luis De Jesús Miranda, a Puerto Rican who now has an organisation headquartered in the Miami, Florida area (specifically, Miramar, Fl), calls himself "Jesucristo, hombre" ("the man, Christ Jesus), and has attracted a large following of people who believe him.

Using the faulty exegesis and out-of-context, short-phrase prooftexting common to such claimants, he says that he is:
Quote:
  • Turning ignorance into wisdom by revealing the mysteries of the world (1 Cor 2:7)
  • Teaching the world that sin no longer exists, as we are dead unto sin (Heb 9:26)
  • Proving there is no Devil, as it was destroyed 2000 years ago (Heb 2:14)
  • Transforming the lives of millions of people worldwide (Rom 1:5)
(Source: His webpage - the Scripture references are part of the quote, not something I added)

Several months ago, I had heard some comments about his visit to Tegucigalpa (the capital city here in Honduras), but I didn't get very much information (not even his name) at the time, so I didn't look into it any further. Three months ago, however, I visited Costa Rica, where I saw a large billboard for him which not only mentioned his Messianic claims, but included the phrase, "Presidente Mundial" ("World President") - something not as prominently displayed elsewhere, but still findable among the writings on his website. For example, he concludes his invective regarding Roman Catholicism and the Pope as follows:
Quote:
THE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN DECEIVED; ROME IS GUILTY OF DECEIVING THE WORLD.

EVANGELICALS, AND ANY OTHER CHRISTIAN GROUPS THAT ARE IN AGREEMENT WITH THE ELEVEN APOSTLES, ARE CONTAMINATED WITH THE SAME BLASPHEMY.

THIS IS MY POSITION AS THE WORLD WIDE PRESIDENT OF GRACE, THIS IS THE POSITION OF OUR MINISTRY”
(Source: One of his so-called " Grace Capsules." The all-caps is how it actually appears on the site.)
Further, the picture of him on his Spanish-language website shows him draped in a presidential sash that says, "Presidente mundial de la gracia / Mi poder en el evangelio" ("Worldwide President of Grace / My power in the Gospel").

Were I to list and discuss all of his blasphemies, misinterpretations, and deceptions, it would probably fill up the server, so I'll stop here and allow you to comment.

This sounds to me like it could be a Waco, TX incident in the future. Hopefully not.

Hard to tell. For that matter, it could wind up to be another Jonestown or Heaven's Gate. Either way, it's pretty ugly.

At the moment, I'm doing research on this for a friend who is a frequent guest on a local TV talk show. They asked him to check it out, and they are going to have the leader of local Creciendo en Gracia church appear with him. There is a little over a week for me to round up as much info as I can.

Be glad, though: I see that he does not have any churches in Michigan yet.

This man diffently sounds fake. The statements that he and his follows are make about the Christ who lived 2000 years ago either are ignorant about the scriptures in the Bible and/or are just decieved by this this self-proclaimed "christ"

Besides the Jesus I know (the one 2000 years ago) wouldn't be wearing rolexes own prime real-estate. And any possisions which are given up by the people to the chirch won't be kept by leaders, but rather such things would go to those who really are in need (a.k.a the poor).

The fake Jesus, the man who this thread is about, if he really knew what the Bible says (in context of the rest of the Bibile) he would know for himself that the very thing he is doing is against Scripture.

This man is directly mocking what Christainity or Catholism is really about. He is only a parady, an immitator, and not a vary good one at that. I hope that this man's deceptions are found out and extengished, not only for the sake of religion and the church, but also for the rest of the world.

This guy is apparently an egocentric maniac thirsty for international attention. This little charade is his idea of how to get people's attention, but using a religious figure to do it is just sick.

Now, I'm Jewish, so I don't know a whole lot about the New Testament, so I had to look this up.

Jesus answered, "I am the way, and the truth and the life..." - John 14:6

For someone to disgrace the Christian religion like that is detestable.[/i]

I was thinking the same thing.

I wouldn't want to bash this man so harshly, but I find it interesting that a man no different than I could gain so many follows merely by quoting scriptures and his own beliefs.
