P4 Mobo dead?

I've got a PC here that doesn't seem to be able to display anything on the monitor. I've tried replacing the VGA card but still no success. Tried removing the RAM and it beeped on startup. Initially the HDD light still showed but after testing the RAM & VGA slots, the HDD light no longer lights up. I suspect the Mobo has died. From what I was told by my friend, that computer just stopped working one fine day.

Anything else I should check on before opting to replace the motherboard?

What kind of PC?
How many beeps when you removed the RAM?
Do you get anything on the screen? Post?
Do the fans turn on?

if its dead try changing the large capacitors if you dont want to buy another one

i've changed the motherboard. It's working fine now. I noticed that the processor chip had one of it's pins bended like a 'u' when i took it out of the old mobo. Could have been the cause of the mobo death. Anyway, thanks.
