I don't play the games but I hear the Halo movie has hit a snag with movie studios. Apparently the budget was a concern. Microsoft is going to bankroll it now from what I hear. Well, I guess they have enough money to do it. 
I've heard Bungie may release the game on July 7, 2007 (07/07/07), because they have an obsession with the number 7, but of course that is only rumor. Also, from the trailor I can see that Master Chief (obviously) and Cortana are back.
