Taskbar Buttons [Next to Start] PC Users

Kryptik
Hi everyone. Smile

I just started my PC up and there was no buttons at the bottom when I clicked on Internet Explorer, all of the Quick Launch buttons where there (I only have four) but no Buttons to say what Program I was using at the present time.

It would be nice if some very nice person could possibly help me with the matter in hand.

Thankyou Arrow Josh.

Sorry, forgot to add a Screenshot to help -

Thanks for your reply SoftStag.

If you read the message correctly and used the Screen Shot for help, you can see this screen open but there is no button to say that it is.

Also you can see that the Quick Launch Buttons there.

Thanks Anyway.

Josh.

Can you use ctrl+alt+del to view open tasks?

Try some things like this:
Anti-spyware
Anti-virus
System Restore
Restore from backup (you do make regular backups, right?)

In the meantime, here's a trick to help you switch between open windows:
press alt+tab to cycle thru the windows, or hold down alt+tab to select an open window. That way, you can work without the absence of the taskbar hindering you.

Apologies, the picture wasn't downloading for some reason when I made the post.

I have posted a response to your post on my forum, and quoted below:

Quote:
You can try downloading this fix.

You will need to download the file (right click and Save As, then save to your Desktop, or somewhere you can find it), then double click on it. You will be prompted when the script is done. You may get a message when it has opened warning you that the script may be malicious, you need to run it anyway - it is not malicious code it is just that many malicious codes use the same scripting file types.

This should then put the buttons back on the toolbar for you.

I did download that fix last night because someone on a Microsoft Forum had the same problem.

But thankyou!

If not there is always this solution, If you have Windows Live Messenger and Messenger Plus Live!, get this script http://www.msgpluslive.net/scripts/browse/index.php?act=viewall&start=5&sorttype=1
then in a conversation window click the little butterfly icon on your text formatting toolbar and choose sBCaption > Tasks > To Show Tasks.
