i'm trying to install a phpbb2 forum on my frihost account, however i've got a problem when installing the forum. The page is returning this error message:
Code:

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database


this is my install screen
can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong..10ks


pls note that all i did was download the latest phpbb2 zip file from their site, extracted it and that uploaded all the files through ftp..this screen appears once i access the install.php script in the install folder

You need to create a database in Direct Admin. See this tutorial for full details

changed the permissions on config.php to 666 now but still got the same result..any ideas? 10ks

Yes. You need to read the above post.

Before you install phpBB, you need to create a new database in Direct Admin. The tutorial link I posted above shows you how to do this step-by-step. Please read it.
