Are Adsense ads always relevant to the site content?

Drastic
I recently tried out a tool from www.digitalpoint.com/tools which generated sample Adsense ads for your domain name, and was struck by how inappropriate most of the ads were. For instance, my husband's website about his career as a theatre director got tourist ads for Scotland as he has a Scots name; the domain "Culturebite" (not an active site) got ads about dealing with insect bites and stings, and my coaching website got adverts for cactuses!

Can anyone confirm whether the real ads are this random or whether they are based on the actual content of your site?

Thanks

most of the ads are accurate. But the ads are generate by keyword so you will still get various ads which are not related.

I was visiting a site yesterday and reading its TOS which had a word sex in it. If i remembered correctly some ads that were displayed showed something about priest sex.

Ya adsense display ads accordingly. They even show you the ads that are currently going on in your country. Example I just saw a ad that shows hotel booking in malaysia, which is my country.

It will show ads that are relevent to the content and keywords. Even if some of the content is relevent to the actual site.
If he doesn't want some of the ads he could use the filter to block them so they don't show up.
Most of the time though you should find that the ads are relevent.
