Every four years is such a long time to wait for the Olympic Games to be shown, this huge event has to be the most rewarding and exciting sporting venues in history of all times.. Athletes from all over the globe come to the games to represent their countries to battle it out with their opponents to take home a gold medal for their achievement in winning the sport that they were entered into. The first Olympic game to be recorded was in 776 BC; that was approximately 3,000 years ago. At that time in history this great festival of events took place to honour the Greek gods, it is believed that the Olympics were held to please and entertain various Greek gods. But one god in particular notably known was Zeus. In Greece the Olympics were called Olympiad.
