Australia, Chasing the total of 234 for Six, Posted by the West Indies with good contributions from Lara and Morton - Lost to West Indies by falling short of 10 runs losing all the wickets.

The fall down at the end, when the West Indian bowler - Taylor, Jerome took his hat-rick which makes him proud to be the first West Indian bowler to get a hatrick in ODI at anytime.

Yes well that was the turning point of the match which took the game away from australia and they just lost it in when it seems as if they are going to win it easily and now it does seems as if westinides are again having some fire power after some time in there bowling line up.

thaqt was an exhilarating game of cricket. One of the better matches played in mumbai in the past few years. Australia looked very dominant from the start of the tournament and so did they in the first inning. The winides target looked unimpressive and I was expecting a smooth chase given the aussie lineup.

It all began with the confrontation between gilchrist, clarke and gayle which seemed to heaten up things. then some controlled slow bowling ensured a prolonged run chase. But then the hattrick was simply awesome and the look on pontings face at the end of the game was priceless.....

windies sure pulled of a stunner but australia had the last laugh as they captured the trophy

yeah Australia did win the final...but there is an interesting peice of stats :

Of all the teams that have beaten autralia after their last WC win, WI has won the most. I always thought it would be either SA or India maybe but never WI...its nice to see them regaining their form.
