It is a web-tool that visits the best rated web-pages on the internet.
You enter your topic and it randomly selects one top class rated webpage on that topic. Websites you will never find it will show u.
P.S. Don't forget to post any comments.

So, what you're saying is....... it's a search engine.
Secondly, if there are web pages that we'd never find, it's because either the web designers dont care that it's found by the general public, or they need to learn the usage of meta names and keywords to advance their site on a search engine.

If they did a site version rather than a plugin version I might've considered giving it a try. What is the difference though between this and Google's 'Get Lucky' link?
No, it's not a search engine in the normal sense. Its more of a social network where people rate and categrize sites. You should try it out, but bascially, it is a fun way to stumble around the internet following what ever topic interests you at the moment. If you want specific info, use a search engine, if you are casually looking for a good site about mushrooms or general aviation, the ratings at stumble just might help you find a good site faster.
Lennon, do you have the stumble tool bar for firefox?
yes the stumble toolbar allows you to very quickly click to go to a random site. It works in Mozilla Firefox for me just fine.
Note this is not simply a search by keyword engine, although it does also have this facility, it is a much more sophisticated web tool and well worth the download (it appears to be a safe file).

I was wondering, what exactly does Google's Get Lucky button do?
I mean, I have not been able to work out why you would use it.
The Captain
The "Get Lucky" button is actully simple to understand..
The get lucky button means that when you type something in, it searchs for the domain and sends you right to that site.
For example:
Type in Frihost.com, and press "Get Lucky" it should come up to Frihosts home page, if not you've done something wrong!
Another example..
Type in Google, and it brings you to the google homepage.
Easy? Easy! I usally don't use that button cause I don't see a point in it, if I know the domain, then why would I go there?
But then again I guess if your going to type a big long domain, you really don't want to do that, and if you don't then go to Google and use the "Get Lucky" button.
Hope that helps!
That makes sense - thanks for letting me know.
I don't see the point of it either unless of course you aren't sure what domain the company/site has from all the options out there today.
Does anyone out there use the Get Lucky button much?
Google seems to be a switched on company and I doesn't seem like they would place a button like that in a prominant position on their site unless it was popular.
Feeling lucky will go to the very first result of the search.
I use I'm feeling lucky for the keyword "failure".
BTW, stumble is quite different. I use it extensively, since it's been recommended by like minded people, not bots.
Interesting, a program thats a Search Engine? OR just a website made to act like a Search Engine?
Either way, I dont think its worth my time.
it's not a search engine guys. Check it out. Honestly you kinda just "stumble" around the internet. You enter some of your interests on an account and it take you to random interesting pages.
for example... how I would ever come upon this site I don't know. But I did, and I enjoyed it for about 30 seconds before moving on: http://www.jacksonpollock.org/
Take a second and check this out, honestly It's one of my favorite time wasters if you're really bored.
Stumble upon has been really good to me. When I'm bored or when I'm looking for websites of a particular subject. There are a lot of good websites I've discovered because of it ^^
Forget about looking for sites. Add your own site to it. You might find yourself getting a lot of traffic just by submitting it in under 1 minute.
I had stumbled upon this site quite sometime ago. But I haven't really make use of what it is offering. It seems quite useful but like others that's how they get traffic for themselves and others.
I think Digg is better than stumble upon...
its a social bookmarking Web2.0 site the more people give you a thumb up the more traffic you get. But digg and delicious are better
and its a great way get quality user traffic to web sites too [so far].
Just like Missdixi I use stumbleupon when I m bored, it's good and has showed me a lots of web sites which I dont think I would have encountered otherwise (Especially in web design).
You can select the type of web site that you want to see (as well as ramdom) so if you have an interest in, dunno, web design, you select that and it will come up with many wed design pages, a new one each time you hit the stumble button
.
But you have to be carrefull what you ask for, found myself looking at pic of kittens for 25 mn solid before hubby woken me up from my trance ( lol ).
I like it
it's a good tool.
Nice site!
Thank you

I agree with you. Stumble Upon is the best! I found a lot of useful sites what I could not find by SE.

I actually tends to use it alot, I think. If I havn't got it wrong, Firefox uses Google Get Lucky if you just type in some words in the URL-bar. So when I don't know the exact url or I am just to lazy to type all, I just type some keywords and Googles Get Lucky brings me to the destination. Can't see why anyone would use it in the "www.google.com > Type words > Get Lucky" way though.
Stumbleupon is the coolest site. It is delicious and orkut combined.. ok minus the scraps. But otherwise it is a very useful tool. The only thing it should getover is the firefox necessity. The is a big turn off. I like using opera and i find it unnecessary to open the firefox browser everytime i like a website.
Yeah, StumbleUpon is a great thing. Not so much to find specific information but rather if you are bored.
I have "stumbled upon" a whole bunch of useful or funny sites.
