User Points/Messages/$

Where can I go to see the number of messages I've posted, points and $

I see them when I pos, but don;t see them in my profile of the accout page.

I'm probably overlooking the obvious.

Thanks
Blaster
i'm afraid to say that is the only place you can see them. That is unless you feel like finding your name in the Memberlist

Well, you can find all of that to the right of the post you just made. Smile

Hmmmm, on my display it's on the left. What's you screen resolution? Which browser? I'm using Opera.

Is this point and dollar thing a readily availble addon/hack for phpBB?

Perhaps the author could have something that lets the user see the stats?

It might be that it could be done in such a way that when you login, the stats are in the top menu area.

Woops. Yes, I meant on the left, but I typed right instead. lol Laughing
I use Firefox. It's an awesome browser. Cool

Yeah, the money system modification is available to add to your phpBB board.

You had me going there for a bit...Opera is a bit contrary...but not switching left and right, or was that right and left????

I'll have to look at the money mod.....it's interesting.

I used to develop software for the Barter Industry....which is a weird world, since everyone in that business trys to convince you that Barter Dollars are the same as USD ...

Is the system set up so that cgi's will only run in cgi-bin?

Thanks,

Thanks,

I'm not sure. I believe you can run a cgi/python script outside of the cgi-bin by simply putting something in .htaccess file. I'm not entirely sure, though.

I'll nose around some cgi stuff and let you know...some configurations allow cgi operation outside of cgi-bin, some don't.

I'm kind of thinking that with the popularity of php, cgi is used less than it was in the bad old days.

as far as i know, you can use cgi outside the cgi-bin. check this topic:

http://www.frihost.com/forums/vt-39654.html

As for points and FRIH$, aren't they in your profile?

I know you have no direct link to your own profile (only edit_profile) but you can bookmark your profile page to check for that information.

profile pages are alwayslike this:

http://www.frihost.com/forums/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u= <username or usernumber>

wich makes your profile link one of these (both work):

http://www.frihost.com/forums/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=25522

http://www.frihost.com/forums/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=k3hrn

Be Well Cool

This is what works here in an .htaccess file in the directory you want:

Options +ExecCGI
AddHandler cgi-script cgi pl

You can test it with something like the code below, upload it as something like testme.cgi and change the permissions to 755

#!/usr/bin/perl
print "Content-type: text/plain","\n\n";
print "Welcome to Thom's WWW Page!", "\n";
$remote_addr = $ENV{'REMOTE_ADDR'};
#print "<H3>";
print "You are visiting from ", $remote_addr, "\n";
$load_average=0.0;
$ut = `uptime`;
print "The uptime for this system is:\n ",$ut,"\n";
($load_average) = ($ut =~ /average: ([^,]*)/);
print "The load average on this machine is : ", $load_average, ".", "\n";
print "Thanks for stopping in!", "\n";
exit (0);

Just out of curiosity, is anything ever going to be done about this? It seems so simple and so common and asked for so many times, yet so far away...
