I cant stand poeple that go to ebay and buy gold. it defys the point of the game. besides that it wrecks the guildwars economy. Everyday the prices if items change and get updated due to the amount of money and rarity o items. eg. if an item becomes more avalible due to over farming, the item is not as rare and be comes cheaper.
also if people go out and farm for gold just to get money for it, it aso wrecks the game for the newcomers. due to the influx of money things become more expencive and the nubs that just have bought the game have a harder time because things are harder to get. this cases them to not want to play the game and in the longrun there is not as many players and the game is as not as fun in the pvp world.
one of the great ideas is the economy that gw has. some games keep the prices at the same amount.though over farming unbalences the economy and screws up the game.
it is all about balence(well except when the luxons aniolates the kurzicks).
Haha, I'm amazed that people would actually spend their hard earned money on fictional money for a game. I mean buying the game is one thing, but paying for imaginary money? That's like buying monopoly money, that's ridiculous.
Plus like you said, it's defeating the purpose of the game. You should earn in the intended way. People need to learn to play Guildwars, WoW, and all of those other MMORPGs for fun... the way they were intended.
...You're telling me, people BUY..MONEY. That doesn't make sense.
I think the most logical thing to do would be to just insert your credit card into these games so it can eat it all up.
This reminds me of the WoW South Park episode..
People have really defeated the idea of fun.
well i guess people who are so into it will go to great lengths to get better characters.
I think the whole mmorpg thing is a great big waste of time. Completely unproductive to the world and should be outlawed like drugs. Harsh you might say, but i have lost friends to the depths of their rooms, people who never leave their room ever!!! Lose their social skills, lose their interest in being part of the community,do no exercise, just pretty much live for purples. Isnt that as bad as drugs?
I view it exactly the same as people that spend money on Warhammer, MtG, Pokemon or any hobby game. None of which have any real world value, but all cost a stupid amount of money to buy/collect.
It's their hobby, they enjoy the game and spending their money on it means they enjoy it more.
Personally I've never done it, but I can understand the frustration that could lead to it, or the desire to improce your character quicker than you normally are able.
It's their money, they can spend it how they like IMO.
Now, as to how it effects ingame economy...that is a problem, but thankfully not a big problem. It won't inflate prices until everyone is buying ingame money, if it did it would isolate the sellers from the majority of player who haven't bought ingame money and don't want to pay the stupid amounts of gold the buyers want.

Then you should say the same about any other game. All games have that ability, but people play them for enjoyment. If we follow your logic, then why not outlaw television? I mean, people spend hours on end wasting their time on television, am I right? Online gaming is a real revolution in gaming, I think. It gives gamers who had to use mulitple controllers before, to now be free from their shackles and use the power of the internet to communicate with other people, but in game form. But lets go back to your logic once again, why not ban the internet? I mean, certainly there are people addicted to the internet, so, why not take that away so that you can't spread your stupid ideas throughout the world? The internet can only be a plague on society as much as MMORPG's are. Hell, if you want to outlaw something like drugs and get rid of them, then why not do that? Get rid of drugs, or don't come back here spreading your ignorant ideas to the rest of us, retard.
Ya I agree with you rightclickscott.
It is breaking the GW User agreement to sell accounts or money or any other in game item for real money so they are just breaking the user agreement and as for people buying the gold is there own choice and I don't think it has much an effect on the game.
