I was looking at the CIA Factbook recently and thinking about the rising influence of China on Africa's economy - particularly in the amount of goods that the Chinese are buying from African Nations. In particular, raw materials are being scooped up at record rates as Chinese companies such as telecomms are moving in and making deals with the governments. I wonder whether this will lead to further investment in the African continent or rather it's just a new form of imperialism and globalism?
