Over a billion people are Christians. A very important part of their belief is that Jesus died on the cross.
Over a billion people are Muslim. Their religion says Jesus did not die on the cross. In fact, he was never even crucified. And he, is not the Son of God. If you believe Jesus is the Son of God, you will go to the "lake of fire" (hell)
I am a neutral person. When I see these two religions, simple logic tells me that one of them MUST be wrong, because they contradict each other. So, over a billion people are wrong! Who should I believe?
I choose agnostic. What i win?
Nah just kidding. What i see in religions, is that they are either ways to avoid the truth, or conversational pieces. Nothing less, and nothing more in my very honest opinion.
Yet... religions always claim to have the "Truth".
ou can't have two contradicting Truths, so one of those religions is definitely wrong. So there are a billion people believing something false their entire lives. Pardon the pun: Holy crap!
in my country all people is Catholics [ i m from poland ] but i don't believe in god so both religions is not interesting me
this topic can't really be replied to that easily... it's all really a question of which religion you choose to follow... if u ask a christian, he'll tell u that jesus did die on the cross, u ask a muslim, and he'll tell you the exact opposite... if, on the other hand, you follow a religion that has nothing to do with jesus, they probably won't answer your question... which is precisely what i'm going to do. lol.

Believe your heart and your soul. If killing people for not believing the way you do is what you believe, then... well, we won't go into that.

Any religion that promotes the killing of anyone and everyone that doesn't believe in said religion is, IMNSHO, not a religion. It's a cult.
I don't understand religion anymore..
what is the real purpose of religion where I seen people using it as a tool to kill other human beings..
The best religion is "peace".
Religions are all brainwashing. Christians pretty much threaten you with eternal damnation so you will believe them.
I was never into religion, but everything I learned in science about space and evolution pretty much prevented any chance of me joining a religious group.
If you're really into it, look up information evolution and theories on the universe. It makes a hell of a lot more sense than the Bible.
i TOTALLY agree with biohazard, blackant and devadutta, though i do follow a religion called "sikhism" which basically preaches love of god and humankind in general, and most importantly preaches tolerance, but some f***ing idiots are using doctrines to their own personal gain, becoming extremists and ruining it...

There are also a lot of other parts of christianism which contradicts itself.
The main problem I have is that God is all loving and peaceful... yet for some reason everyone forgets the Old Testament which produced such wonderful goodies as passover, flooding of the earth and pillars of salt!
Anyways... even catholicsm and protestism has major faith divisions (both christian) which revolve around Christ, and Mary etc.
My own personal beliefs?
Live how you feel live should be lived. If there is a God, or pantheon, or aliens who watch over us
, then it should be judged on how you live your life and if you belive that life should be held in that regard, not if you act your life out in accordance that you have been doctrined into believing that that is the way you should act.
For example "do not steal" because you feel it is wrong, not because you don't care, but someone has said you shouldn't.
Probably a bad example, but I think it get's the idea across.
