Is it possible to hide installed programs in the Software thing?
Hide programs in "Software"
What do you mean by hiding programs in the software thing?

Fire up Windows registry editor : Run -> Regedit
Navigate to HKey_Local_Machine\Sofware\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Uninstall
Find the key corresponding to the software you want to hide from the add/remove programs list and rename the key called "UninstallString" to "QuietUninstallString".
In case that doesn't work, export the particular registry branch to a .reg file (for backup) and delete the key from registry.
That should hide that particular program from the add/remove list.
another way is to rename DisplayName by adding Quiet so it will read:
QuietDisplayName
No reboot or refresh needed.
Open Add or Remove - the listing is now gone. To revert, rename back to DisplayName.

if i want to hide anything in the add/remove, it's because i don't want people to remove it.

That is not the best way to go then (not knowing your situation but still hehe)
Remove them as local administrators and they will not be able to uninstall even if they can see it.
I must check the uninstall options in registry, very nice.
But if you hide it there, your users can still uninstall the programs they want by going to the program folder and use the uninstall exe file.. so no solution to hide.

Hi, I really don't know your expertise level, but If you are some kind of a newbie or a low level user, I recommend you not to mess with the registry if you don't know in deed what you're doing. I suggest you to use software for this matter, if you want it to be easy, password protected and able to customize the "hiding settings" use 1st Security Agent or something alike, or a tweak UI software.
It's just a suggestion.
Ty guys. You're really helpful.
I don't wanna hide pornos -.-..
The problem is that I wanted to play a game and my PC was broken.
My parents' PC is for work and not supposed to run games.. So I just try
to hide it somehow. If they see it.. Well, it won't actually matter.
But anyways, ty.

If they suspect it's there, it's gone. Not much you can do.
BTW, 10 to 1 says he infects his mommy's computer or screws it up himself. Any takers?
