pentoo linux live cd -- first stab

pumpkin168
I need to use Nessus today to scan an IDP appliance. Instead of installing nessus onto my linux desktop as I usually did in my past lives, I opt to use a live CD instead. To my surprise, a lot of live CD distros but few has Nessus installed. Eventaully, thanks to Google, I found 'Pentoo Linux' Live CD released this past July.
Once I boot it up, the Nessus is one of the action buttons at the bottom panel, side by side with NMAP and such. It is a bit un-intuitive when I am prompted to logon to Nessusd. With prior experience, I added a Nessus user and a 'default accept" rule. W/o it, I'd belive one would be lost for a while.
Nmap doesn't seem to work right. I use 'connect probe' to scan one IP address on one port (80), it takes much longer than I believe is reasonable based my past experience with nmap. A scan using 'common ports (fastest)' port range doesn't found the wide-open port 80, 443, 22?!
well, I guess I'll forgive her since this is the first live cd release...
