to be honest i dont think there is many people who do it.
There is ofcourse people who start getting lots and lots of the valuta from MMORPG's and sell it for real cash, this is known as "bots" or "chineese farmers(wierd is that most of theese bots are from japan/asia/china) and they use bot scripts(they dont sit at the computer) that will auto target and kill defined targets in the programs.
But i dont think theese even can make a living of selling gold since the game companies that makes the games makes this the ToU(Terms of Use) and there by make it a ban able reason.
The only people i can see making a living of this is either staff from the game companies or people from big websites about games like Gamespot and Boomtown.

Actually, I'm starting a professional gaming team called "Team Awsomesauce," including console specialist and founder, me, PC gaming expert, Dan, and the girl/god at "Wolfenstein" and PC specialist, Ashley. We're looking for atleast one more person before we get into tournaments. Either way, when we play together, we practically own everyone.
I cant call myself a pro gamer but i do make some money out of it from frag betting sites.
but most of the sites iv bean using are from other country's but this month their will come a new page here in Sweden where you will be able to make some money out of frag betting in css, q3 and other games

playing for living = stay a kid for ever
I wouldn't call myself a pro gamer, but I do make a fair bit of money with my CSS Skills.
My clan participate in a few LAN parties against other local teams and we win prize money usually, or at my local LAN Cafe on an all-night gaming session I'm usually the overall winner of the night which means you have to win at about at least 80% of the games in the 16 hours... which changes every hour so 16 games.
I can usually win just under half a weeks wage.

I think its kinda cool that you guys play competively and i hope as I meet some more gamers in my community that play the same type of games as me then maybe we'd be able to enter some tourneys and even win some money.

PC specialist, is there even such a thing???
Man, must be so nice, earning your living with playing games.
= dream job.
But I don't think that there are many people who can/do that, nor I don't think that it pays that well.
You might as well study, get a job, earn a sh*t load of money with that job, and then play games as a hobby. Even more fun

I say that since she rarely ever goes into console gaming. She's said before that she doesn't feel at home without a keyboard in front of her.
