The Dodge Viper is my favorite American made sports car. It is currently the only American made sportscar that has more then 200hp. And lets face it, the looks are wicked sick !

200hp seems a little underpowered for any american V8... (It's a given that almost any American-designed sports car wil have a V8). My jeep has a 220hp engine, and it's not even the best available engine for that truck...
Thats not right.
The 2006 dodge charger for example (its a family car, not a sports car - but they way DCX are marketing it you would think it was a sports car so its enough for comparason)
All but one of these engines is 200+hp.

given aside the fact it may not be the only one, it is still an amazing car!!!!!!!

OK... The current production Dodge Viper has a 510 HP 8.3 L V10 in it, known as the SRT-10, and produces 535 Lb/Ft of Torque. By comparison, the Ford GT as mentioned in someone else's post, has a 550 HP 5.3L V8 in it, which produces 500 Lb/Ft of Torque. The Chevrolet Corvette has 5 less HP than the current Dodge Viper with only a V8 in it, and to top it all off...the Ford Shelby GT500 is putting out a whopping 500 HP, with a 5.3L V8 in it, so the amount of power is not that much greater. For an extra $40,000 over the Ford Shelby GT500 you get an amazing 10 HP, and weight savings of about 400 Lbs. To me doesn't seem worth it since the new GT500's look freaking awesome, but then again it's all personal opinion. Now that I see the price for the GT500, I'm thinkin I might look into that rather than the brand new Dodge truck I was looking at.

the latest gen. Ford Mustang GT 500 (a sports car that comes heavily modified from the factory) is now producing up to and over 500 hp depending on the options you select.
altho i will admit the GT is a sweet car.
i happen to go to school right by the primary vehicle assembly plant in Wixom, MI.

vipers are beautiful, but nothing beats the '69 charger <3
I would like to say something about the interior, becouse as zplitstonez said
with what I don't agree even as a The Very Greate viper fan, firs thing U R doing is: tuneing up the interior. But I console myself that moust of the Epic cars have the same problem as 4 exsample Supra, Subaru Impreza (I'm not saying anything obout STI ver) Mitshubishi Galant (mayby not so epic, but still nice). I'm saying about something like this"
