Hi, i was just wondering why server 2 usually is down alot more than server 1. I know sever 1 is the main one and all, but it also has some free hosters right? Im assuming the first people to get hosting got the server 1 and than the overload got sever 2. Maybe get a server 3 or something? Because server 2 seems to be down alot for me. Just wondering if you have stats for what the downtime is for sever 2 compared to server 1.
[OFFICIAL] Server 2 Hourly Restart
yea, my site just went down then.
Someone's running some very heavy scripts on Server 2, which is increasing the load on it. We're still trying to figure out who it is... the problem is that Bondings has to be online at that exact time when the server goes down in order to try to find out which site is generating the server-heavy scripts.
But every couple of days we're making changes to the server and its configurations and settings to try and make it more reliable.

ugh im trying to get some stuff done, and sever 2 went down again
yea i've overlooked the downtimes recently... but they seem to be getting more rampant, it's really not good for my userbase

Yea i know lol, once my site starts getting users, i don't want them coming and see its down again. If this is still down so often, i might have to change hosts or something. Theres nothing they can do to fix them?
ugh down again lol

theres no way you could install some tracking software where is makes a note of who runs what, at what time and so on so forth
Maybe everytime Bondings gets on he could disable 5 or so accounts and see if the scripts still keep running. I know that I wouldn't mind my account being closed for a few days while you see who is running theses scripts
why would someone running heavy scripts cause the server to crash?

I guess their using too much of the server? What kind of scripts are considered heavy lol and to cause a server to crash or slow down greatly.
I would think that they would have a timeout for all of the scripts... like if it takes to long to load, they kill the process.
I'm also having a same problem. In fact, only 20% of the visitors can log on to the site. I'm really disappointed. This server often down. I'm now thinking about moving to a more reliable host.
It is fairly annoying here are the uptime stats for my site on server 2:

Not great really but hey free.

That's there for 1 long script. The problem is when thousands of small, but memory-consuming scripts are run at the same time or successively... like recently, someone's account was sending out hundreds of emails one after the other... that caused the server load to shoot up.
As for the person who quoted the site uptime stats... it's still 97% uptime (97.446% to be exact)... it's better than the 20% someone else quoted. Please be careful of what you say instead of just saying it.
yea the downtime isn't too bad... it's just i'm always working on my site and being there... so i can tell when its down... and it gets on my nerves... you guys are doing a fairly good job with this server... i haven't been overly pis*** yet
Yea i've noticed mine down quite a bit lately but then again it lasts like 4-5 minutes which isn't a problem for me again this IS free
, so no complaints for me
If you really need hosting that's really reliable, i think you better look for payed hosting...
I mean, Frihost is still free...
Ofcourse it can be that you first start on Frihost, build an big userbase and than would step on a payed-hosting company. Meh, if you're site is not reliable i can understand you...
But i guess it would be great ofcourse when Server 2 is reliable to
(i'm still in activation mode, so dunno how it is)

I also experienced some problems with server 2. There are often short-down for about 30 seconds to one minute and then server works fine again. I checked settings at google webmasters and there are about 2000 sites which were unreachable by google crawl bots (because downtimes of server). Maybe that have an influence at ranking on google search engine.
You should really find out who or what is making that problems.

the 30 second thing is apache restarting hourly
maybe frihost can put a limit to what kind of scripts are used, so that the server doesnt go down so often. other users are affected pretty badly. Lets hope its fixed soon.
As of now, I'm going to -lock- this topic... we're getting the same suggestions again and again.
We are aware that there're some heavy scripts running on Server 2 which causes Apache to restart every hour, and we're doing everything we can to try and firgure out what it is.
I'm going to make this topic OFFICIAL and sticky it to prevent any more threads about this.
