Domain name confusion

kgcole
Hi...pretty new to this webhosting thing, and I'm confused about domain names...do I have to have a domain name before I could host a website on Frihost, or do I have to have a website URL to point to first in order to set up a domain name? - - I understand that it's much simpler to have a domain name, but can't a browser simply be directed to a webpage http address?

Thanks,
KGC

Neither.

You can have a webpage without your own domain name - e.g. kgcole.frihost.net - or a domain without an existing webpage.

...thanks for the quick reply, simply....clears that up....the net thing can be rather confusing when you first jump in.
