I'd like to get some ads onto my site, not really for the cash - as I know that I'll make basically nothing - but for the experience.
But I have a few questions first:
• What type of advertising should I use, google adsense or.. well, what?
• In what ways can I receive the cash I make?
• I'm assuming that I would receive cash into a paypal account or something like that for most ads. If this is true: I'm under 18 years old, where can I make an account for this purpose? To use paypal you need to be 18+.

I would recommend using adsense if you are getting less than 2000+ visits a day.
With adsense you either get a check sent to you for $100 US or $100 US in your currency deposited into your bank account.
I am only 13, but i signed up with my mums name and use her bank account.
OK, thanks. I think I'll do the same with one of my parents account. Bah! I hate the limitations of being under 18.

They don't check, but it's still against the TOS.I think I'll apply for Google Adsense then. They do say that you need to be 18 or older, but as they don't check (and it's in their best interests not to really) then I might as well.
One thing though, to implement it within my forum: do I just add in the required html into the template files?

Yes. I don't think they really care, but you never know if they will start checking one day or not. But don't listen to me 100%, I just read that this guy was 16 and had adsense and they haven't caught him.i dont think tis a good idea if you dont have a lot of visits, but..
well but you get more active visitors and put the advertisment
