MPlayer subtitles, cp1250 vs. iso8859_2 or utf-8

I have all of my subtitles encoded in cp1520 (Latin-2) and when I play divx in my Xubuntu desktop with the MPlayer, some of the Croatian characters are showed as _ or ?.

What should I do to solve the problem?
