I've been reading a few post through-out this site and i've noticed that i'm not the only person who is extremly interested in the film business. One thing that many sites (including frihost) need is a forum for filmmakers. A filmmaking forum will be where members can talk about editing software, discuss the new HD technology, special effects, and anything else about the art of making movies.
Does anyone agree with me and my idea? If many people vote for this, the administrator may make this forum.

It could but it would be better if all the filmmaking stuff is in one place.Well, to be honest, that's the first time someone's suggested that. However, I'm not sure how popular that may be. Most of the users here are more interested in internet or personal computer-based softwares.
You could also post in the following forums (apart from the one garionw suggested), I think:
Jobs and Learning -- for careers in film-making or what kind of jobs it offers.
Movies and TV -- for various film-making techniqies or types of films, etc.

I agree actually, everything else is too general for some in-depth discussion about movie production.
I still think that we should still have one. I would love to see other peoples work and find out about programs they use and different tips and all.

I think its a great idea, i would be interested to discuss this topic with other people who are interested.. it would also be a good place to for users to share there movies to allow other users to comment on them as well as give tips on improvements.
I'm not interested in film making but we have a million forums and have to scroll 3 kilometres down a page to get to the forums we want so why not one more?

I will be making a lot of changes to the index page of the Frihost forums in order to prevent this. Most of the forums don't need that much space and there definately can be several forums next to each other.I personally don't think its that bad to scole down. You should do something like IPB does where you can like close the topics you dont' want.
A Film-making and Animation forum would be good, I mean, they're so closely related, and there isn't really a forum for animationl people just use the art forum for it.

Agreed, I like it how it is, but the collapsable idea would be helpful.
Anyway, a movie making forum would be a pretty good addition I think.True Im taking a video production class (of course getting an A since all the times I fixed teachers computer) Same way I get through most of my classes. (sorry forgetting of topic) But I realy like video production and would like to talk about it and strategys and stuff with other members I would realy enjoy it and would have fun. I would realy like this this mite be my favorite thing you did all year.
I would also like this. I even have some of my videos on my site. I have been looking to get more into it and a forum here would be a good place.
Yeah the IPBs I hate GUI-wise but I do admit some of the features like the minimizing of forums is great.
I would really like to see this section added.

Ooh! Own3d! I like that idea, of the film/animation forum, I do a lot of that kinda thing. I definitely think that the minimise forums idea would be good.I hope so... 
I might add it as there seems to be a lot of interested people. I'm still thinking of it and those things take some time (especially with me 
). How about a sub-forum that comes of Movies and Television, but really guys I dont like the idea, if this is let through then it will open the floodgates for very specialised forums, thus producing to many forums

But yea i'm still happy that we might get a film making forum.I don't see a reason why we won't...and it only takes about 5 secs to make
yea but theres more to it then that. Moderators have to spend time moderating another forum that would house even more spam. So it might take an hour to buy a car but it takes longer to pay it off.

yea film making and animation would work. The whole warez thing would have to be heavly enforced though. I have a feeling that a lot of people might post stuff to like free flash and stuff. So the mods will have to do a good job there.
