The Ultimate Fighting Championship and PRIDEFC

My most favorite fighting shows are the UFCs and the PRIDEFC. Both are realistic martial arts, no-holds-barred open competition. Here, the fights are not crap, no acting job and no fakes. This shows are pure martial arts showcase of the best known fighters of different disciplines. Ninjitsu-Jiujitsu, Muay Thai, Submission Fighting, Sambo/Judo, Kickboxing, Grappling and many more. This fights maybe lethal, but fighters still go at it. My favorite discipline shown in UFC is Ninjitsu-Jiujitsu.

Ninjitsu Jiu-Jitsu is one of the best and most famous martial arts of today. This technique had garnered so much attention with the demise of Kung-Fu legend Bruce Lee. And with the widespread of various martial arts competitions worldwide - Ninjitsu Jiu-Jitsu proved to be a very potent technique. In the many facets of the Ultimate Fighting Championships - the Gracie brothers, led by Royce Gracie a multititlist UFC champion reigned in the martial arts world competitions today. This technique employs a combination of grappling, sheer stamina, and choking, locks and submission techniques. Royce defeated many famous martial artists like Ken "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Shamrock a shootfighter, Kimo Leopoldo a Freestyle (streetfighting specialist), Minoki Ichihara a karate specialist and many more. One thing to note, all of these gentlemen are experts and blackbelts sometimes seventh degree blackbelts. The expertise of Jiu-Jitsu has shown that you cannot always win with sheer strength, brute force and fearsome strikes like in kung-fu. The Jiu-jitsu is well suited for one-on-one combat in the mat. The only technique proven to dismantle the jiu-jitsu technique is the techmique of Kazushi Sakuraba the Submission Wrestling Specialist known as the "Gracie Hunter". He has almost defeated the entire clan of the brazilian Gracies including Royce. But his technique is still far from being superior for he has been only successful with the Gracies but had been defeated many times by less popular opponents with weaker techniques. This just goes to say, everything has a weakness - every technique can be countered.

State your ideas please.

man! I'mimpressed with your article!!
I actually like watching UFC fights but nothing more!
I don't like so violent martial arts
i practice more classical arts like Tae-kwon-do ... that are not suited to the kind of fights allowed in UFC.

Yeah I like UFC better than pride, I think pride rules are bad they match big guys with small ones so its basically miss match and also they use a boxing ring rather than an octagon, sometimes the fighter can fall on the side and peaple start to push the fighters in so they won't fall off, I think its really funny when they stop the fight when the fighters are on the edge of the ring and resume it in the midle in the same position, sometimes they even carry the two fighers to the center its really punny.

but I like them both because its really a fight and not acting.

Sadly they are not showing any UFC or pride matches on the TV channels I got Crying or Very sad
It´s really entertaining to watch. If you ask me, I´d say it´s as close to "real" fighting you can get.

Well let me say this....

I really enjoy MMA and Martial arts but in the past few years there has become a huge difference between the two. Let me explain...

Martial arts in its classical sense is devised of many different disciplines with each having its differences. Each claims its strengths with none claiming to be the better of any other. It teaches its proclaimed actions and no more. It does not allow for much if any original thought within its teachings. It wants you to learn it the way it proclaims. If you do it the best ability and try to perfect it's form the higher you climb in its ranks. This has been the way it has been for years and the way it should be. It is meant for discipline and honor to those who have created it.

MMA on the other hand has taken on a whole other direction. Someone mentioned Bruce Lee and I believe MMA is what Bruce Lee tried to preach to the world. A way of fighting that each fighter trained him or herself to be the best that they could be according to their individual strengths and according to the presented situation. The new breed of MMA has fighters trained in many different aspects, from striking to grappling to submissions. Each fighter is learning to fight according to fightan opponent in every way, not just striking or kicking or grappling.

In the early UFC each fighter had a discipline and it was one style versus another and ji - jitsu, grappling type of fighters seemed to dominate. As the UFC progressed and fighters started training for these MMA fights they started their own styles based on who they fought and then just started learning every aspect to make a all rounded fighter. Look at the recent fight between Matt Hughes and Royce Gracie. Royce dominated in the early UFC but was no match for the new way of fighting that Matt Hughes presented. Then recently Matt Hughes fought in my opinion the best new MMA fighter in George St. Pierre and was dominated because he could not strike, only wrestle.

One style does not dominate anymore. It may win you a fight occasionally but if you are going to fight a new MMA fighter who has trained himself properly you better be well rounded yourself. The classical martial arts are a good beginning and each has its benefits but MMA is a totally different way of fighting compared to the classical sense.
