MARS are very farrrrrrrrrrrr away
Atlas V (the strongest rocket in the world) need about 1-1,5 year to reach mars <----anyone wanna drive it ??

Nasa develop new Rocket, positron rocket
which can do in 80-120 day to mars only need 10 Miligram of positron
and produce only gamma Ray radiation when exploden about 500 Meter
so its very safe, see the chemical rocket can create 500Meter Fireball Rolling Eyes

since very safe, maybe rocket positron someday become our basic transportion, like a starwars Car; hahhahaha



But produce 10 Miligram positron which this current techology its would take 300 year Rolling Eyes

so post your oponion or idea to produce positron extremely fast

Basically the production is only one problem (and the smaller one).
A much bigger one is the storage. Being anti-matter, you cannoy use matter to contain it or...boom.
That means you are reliant on some form of magnetic containment. This problem is similar to the one the fusion people are working on and have been working on for the last 3 decades.
Cern have produced about a billionth of a gram in a decade but there is a new technique which should speed this up significantly. It uses a technique called positron cooling of anti-hydrogen.
If you want to read up on new developments in this then here is a link to a recent paper on it by Nat Bowden at Harvard.

Um people have sent things to mars and allot further.
Its just a matter of building a big enough space craft and timing.
The biggest problem is the human factor and building it.

An antimatter rocket, our technology if far from advanced enough to make one. It would need allot of power to just store the the antimatter.

Well just to put something on the floor, couldn't you harness solar power and such things to power the craft, although i'm sure it may take a new kind of solar cell, which harnesses more of the suns output than our current ones do. And come to think of this, what part of the electromagnectic spectrum do our solar cells currently transform to electricity, visible light, or others such as microwaves, and x-rays?

Such as a light sail,. A soler sail would use the same principle as a wind sail except it uses light and its within our technology but it would need a large construction effort in space and thats out side our technology. And at the pace NASA and other space agency's around the world are going, it will be a long time before it is.
