How ironic.

I seriously wonder just how far the true peaceful Islamics will tolerate their name being smeared with this vile, putrid, violent hatred.

Or will they allow it to be completely ruined by the radicals who are so loud and quick to profess death to anyone who does not submit to them?

There are clearly two defined groups in Muslim states, either modernistic or traditionally oriented. The muslims that mingle with multi-denominations like Buddhists, Christians, Jews etc, in a single society tend either to redefine their status as one of the other two, either the accomodating modernistic approach with mutual respect towards other faiths, or a traditional, medieval discipiline of absolutes and no compromise.

That is, there is a cultural divide in the Islam state, those that are becoming more open to western thought, and those that are clinging to their traditions for purity. The latter is prone to self-preservation at all costs, possibly leading to self-centred, self-righteousness that becomes the more misled and ill-perceived as it justifies itself wrongly, leading to extremism and fanaticism.

In the war of 9/11 the terrorists were attacked, namely the Afghan Taliban, but instead of singling out the extremist muslims, no differentiation was given to the two groups, and all suffered, both fell victim to the rash bombing. For an example, if a house is on fire, you should extinguish it with water, not bomb the house down. The US army tended to bomb all vicinities of the extremists, with casualties including the innocent. This connective guilt is re-igniting the hatred of America and turning the open-minded modern Muslims against democracy and for the literal Jihad instead. What is needed to reduce the muslim extremists is a cultural war, to allow time for a shift to modernism, and the traditional Jihadists will lose numbers over time. Modern war can no longer achieve permanent psychological goals.
