Macintosh Supported Hardware

I would like to start a thread to help all the Macintosh users of companies that offer support for their APPLE MACINTOSH computer.

I would also make a list of Non-Supported hardware companies so they know not to buy from these.

I would like to know the company and the restrictions. Such as you can use a belkin card as long as you have 10.2.6 or great and AirPort 3.0.4 or greater.

As more post the more I will add.

the list will be useless with the next release of mac OS. trust me.

mac is not like microsoft where the next OS will support existing hardware. they will make sure their next OS will only support their hardware so that they can keep selling it.

the only way to make sure your hardware support mac OS is to buy a mac hardware.

you also run into the problem of the divide between apple using x86 intel processors and powerpc processors.

O well. Lets just stick to powerpc then.

How will the next release of mac os x change the hardware support?

I mean if my firmware doesn't understand that my VisionTek Radion 9200se is a graphic card even with a new os it still wont understand it.

I think he meant the opposite; less will be supported with the new OS.

This list may come in handy, but upgrading with most (maybe all) of these components voids your warantee because they are not Apple components installed by one of their people...
