Whats the Cost of building a robot ?

May be this topic which I'm going to post it out here is not meant to be here
But even though i would like to post out my request

I'm doing my B.Tech Instrumentation and control engineering 2nd year. I was recently facinated by the Robotics Column and would like to create a Robot using a R/C or controlling it via Wifi through a computer..
I want to know the working cost of designing and creating a Fully operational walking RObot...

I think i can use Engineering mechanics to calculate the Walking

Building a walking robot will easily be over $1000. If you build a less-complicated one, I would say $800 or more. Building robots is not that easy (or cheap), especially if you want to control it using wifi.
