The dark green paint on my Buick Lesabre is begining to peel away. Some people have told me to sand it down and paint it with like rustoleum or something
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Someone at work offered me green duct tape.
"Yah might be a red neck if.."
Now i am a fan of duct tape and Macgyver is the king of duct tape but it just wouldnt work on peeling paint!
Weird. My friend's '91 Buick Skylark has peeling paint as well.
The paint is peeling because the car is rusting. You need to sand off the peeling paint and the rust, then paint over it with a corrosion inhibitor, such as rustoleum, then paint over it with the original color. If it's accessable, you should also check the other side of the peeling area for more rust.
Your other options would be:
1: Get a new car. (is a '94 buick LeSabre worth fixing?)
2: Go to a bodyshop or auto painting shop (they'll make it look like new for you, for a hefty fee)
3: Use that green duct tape (are you a redneck? I've used duct tape to repair cars before.)
4: Ignore it. (You'd be suprised how much rust it actualy takes to kill a car.)
