You can browse around on the net for these so called proxy servers - basically a site you go to that you can access other intenet sites though - mostly done to get around corporate and school firewall restrictions. What I was wondering is, is it possible to get the source for this kind of server or are there any apps that will let you run it on your machine. So basically if I were to stand up something similar, what kind of software whoul i need?
Proxy server software
if youre using linux you can use SQUID for proxy
if you using windows, try wingate or winproxy
cheers

Well, i didnt know there were software like that, as far as i know, proxys are nothing more than a server with open ports which you can connect so it goes like:
[YOU] <--- [PROXY] <---
^
|
[YOU] ---> [PROXY] ---> [SITE]
the same thing that its been done since ISP doesnt have enough IP to serve all their users, they proxy many of them, (i hate IPv4)
i think that if you proxy yourself it'll be the same thing, at least if you dont get special persmisions of the net areas (A1 B C....)
^^
