Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter died last night while filming off the Great Barrier Reef. Aparently he was swimming next to a stingray when it stung him piercing his heart. He was dead by the time they were able to get him to his boat near by. He leaves behind his wife Terri, his daughter Bindi, nd a son Bob. May our thoughts and prayers go out to them.
One more thing.....I find it in incredibly poor taste that Discovery Channel News chose to include this paragraph in their story about Steve's death.
"Irwin's public image was dented, however, in 2004 when he caused an uproar by holding his infant son in one arm while feeding large crocodiles inside a zoo pen. Irwin claimed at the time there was no danger to the child, and authorities declined to charge Irwin with violating safety regulations."
Nice to know that when a man like Steve Irwin who has spent his whole life crusading for animal and habitat conservation allows a television network like Discovery to ride on his coat tails, they feel the need to bash him hours after his death. They should be ashamed.
