Hello Friends
Please help me to differentiate between various laptop processors from intel.
what's the difference between centrino, pentium 4M, pentium mobile etc?
Centrino is actually the name of the Intel bundle, not the name of a processor. Whenever you see Centrino, there is probably a Pentium M inside. Well, now Core Solo, Core Duo and Core 2 Duo is out.
Core Solo is just a version of Pentium M with some make up. If you cannot afford a lot, then this will be the way to go, it still shows amazing performance.
Core Duo is simply great, and the fact that it's available on a laptop makes this a great opportunity to use a processor with two cores.
Core 2 Duo just came out and is an upgrade of the latter. I've never used it, but the Intel ads advertise it as being around 15% faster than Core Duo, so you've got the money, go for Core 2 Duo.
