Lighten the Load for Frih$s

Maybe FriHost could have a monthly sponsored event to make FriHost run better. Like:

Move your avatar from the FriHost forums and host them on an image host to save space and get 10Frih$!

Get the idea? Do small things on FriHost to make it more efficient and get a little Frih$!

It's not the avatars that are causing the load. Only bandwidth usage and server 1 has a low bandwidth usage.

Take images. Most people use an image host if they want to display an image on these forums. A lot of those images disappear after a while or other problems. It would be better if you would be able to upload them to Frihost in some kind of gallery (which I'm already planning to implement on Frihost for almost a year, but it will eventually be there).

I wasn't talking specifically about avatars. But on the subject... Rolling Eyes

People using image hosts instead of the forum uploader would save some bandwidth. Think about thousands of avatars being downloaded hundreds of times a day...

Most people will have others avatars cached though and as no new accounts are being placed on server 1, whats the point of trying to save bandwidth?
