Java or Qt ?

sarapicoazul
Hi,

I want to develop a graphics GUI application that runs on multiple operating systems: Windows, Linux and Mac. My only experience is with MFC, C/C++ and OpenGL.
What do you recommend ? Build the application using Java (using Swing and Java 3D API) or Trooltech's Qt toolkit/widget-kit or another approach?

I wouldn't do java because the 3d is usually extremely slow, and cumbersome to load, etc.

If you use sdl for basic window manipulation it should work. And there is plenty of precedent for using it with OpenGL. Heck, it even has built in functions for that.

I would use QT, beacuse not everyone has installed java on the pc.
