GIMP tutorials required

GIMP is GNU Image Manipulation Program, and it works on windows also. I've not worked with photoshop nor with GIMP, but from whatever basic I could do with GIMP I am convinced that it is a good tool.

What I need is online tutorials / tips etc to learn image manipulation. Can anyone help?

I'll also want to know if someone has compared Photoshop and GIMP, and what were the results. Though I do not intend to buy and use Photoshop but this will certainly affect my decision for any future consideration.

So please help.

Well, the GIMP is much better than Photoshop in my opinion and it is a lot easier to use as well.
