After doing some searching on these fourms, I have come to the conclusion that the sport of horse racing is grossly underrepresented, so I have decided to do something about that. Do we have any fans of the sport of kings 'round these parts? I have been following the local tracks in my state from a very young age. I got into racing through my grandparents who owned race horses. Those of you familiar with the Michigan Thoroughbred racing scene may have heard of Royal Charley. He is/was (It's a long story) our horse. He will crush your soul.
I usually stick to the state racing scene, but on a national level, I have been consistently impressed by Bernardini. Sure, call it a cop-out for name dropping arguably the #1 horse in the U.S., but he just makes it look easy. It is a shame that his connections did not point him toward the Kentucky Derby earlier this year, because, barring injury, there is not a doubt in my mind that he could have taken at least two of the Triple Crown races.
So that's my two cents. I hope I'm not the only racing fan around, but it wouldn't be the first time.
