Hello people!

I am a Norwegian girl. Pretty new to this website thingy, but got web-design at school, so guess I got to learn it now.

I guess I will need it sooner or later anyway.

Well I will go to learn some html codes more now, so cya around people Wink

My name is Ato and I'm completely new to this kind of thing... it's taken me more than an hour to work out how to post messages on the forum! I came across this because I was trying to find out about free webhosting services and this was the only one I came across that didn't seem to have any unseen catches - there seem to be lots of so called 'free' webhosting services that when you look into them are either not offering sufficient tools, disk space etc or are in fact not free at all. I really believe (like a lot of you I'm sure) that the web should be completely accessible to all and for that to happen - it has to be free. I also really like the fact that Frihost seem to have been really creative in how they are generating income without forcing its most valuable resource to foot the bill - keep up the great work guys! I myself want to set up an online magazine and as I don't have any capital to invest in it, this provides the ideal opportunity to do just that - I really hope that I'll be able to support Frihost even more when it's up and running... but in the meantime, I really look forward to getting to know as many of you as possible.

Do you realise the present count of members totals 22572 at this moment, 13:14 CET?
I do hope you have some spare time left, as it could take you some.

Why don't you explain what kind of e-mag you want to make? On what issue? How will it generate income for you? What tools and systems do you want to employ? Will it be in colour or black and white? How frequent do you intend to publish a new issue?

When you start to make us curious, you have to satisfy those needs as well. Fais is fair.

Anyway: my greetings!

...you're freaking me out already. I thought there would only be about 50 people using this site...! Seriously though, I'll try my best to get involved in keeping this going by contributing as much as I can - that's what I really meant. Anyway, as for the e-mag - the original idea was to do something that would based loosely on the principles of citizen journalism (if there are any) - encouraging people to write about stuff - eyewitness reports about stuff that's going on in different places around the world - real-life stories, events etc but now I'm also thinking about making it much more general - the idea is to inform and entertain but most of all - encourage people to interact with each other in creative and (hopefully) innovative ways through the magazine. I know it's vague but my biggest hurdle at the moment is trying to get something set up.
Other stuff - design and frequency etc I've not really thought about but one key factor will be accessibility and free to subscribers...
I hope that's satisfied your curiosity for a while but don't worry, I'll be keeping you informed of any further developments...

Greetings LadySarina! Welcome to Frihost's world community. I don't know what kind of design program you use at school. If you need a program, drop me a PM and I will pass along a couple of "freebie" suggestions.

Greetings to Ato as well. Good luck with the E-zine.
