I love swimming!

Only joined the swim team in my last year of college but it was lots of fun, and I still swim on a regular basis for exercise.

Any other swimmers out there (on a team or teamless!)?

If you're teamless as well, I'd be interested in knowing what you challenge yourself to swim each week ^_^.

Swimming has always been a favorite sport of mine. While I don't swim competitively, I have taught swimming lessons for the last two years. It's so cool seeing kids improve week by week, lesson by lesson -- especially when you get them again several months down the road. Watching that improvement is rather satisfying.

What's your favorite stroke?

I love swimming. I'm not in any teams right now, but i was in school swimming team last year. Before than, I swam regularly twice a week 1.5 hours for about 6~7 years. I still really enjoy swimming!

Swimming is great. I'm not particularly good at it but I like it. I can hold my breth for a minute and a bit so I like showing off by swimming a legnth under water. Thats just me though LaughingThis is a major subliminal message. Please email me if you find it as I think it is really cool. My email address is the-master@supanet.com Anyway Congratulations if you found this as I really did think that no one would ever find it and it would be one of those things on the Internet that no one will ever find like one of those free sites that no one ever visits. Not like ones made on this site they are cool!!! I love this site and thanks for it.

I can hold it for two..Very Happy try to swim more then 2 legnths (100m) under water and I will be impressed!! (then you beat me...)

I used to swim a lot, but it was some time ago now... almos a year an a half.
I also competed, I were more of a distans swimmer with distance like 200 breaststroke, 200, 400 and 1500 freestyle, also 200 and 400 Individual Medley.
I don't know which race/time is the best but when I were 16 years I did 16min 30s on the 1500 free...

Fina is going to ban new swimsuits so the sporstmen should learn how to swim wearing old-type swimwear.
Twenty-nine world records were set in the first five days of the current Fina World championships in Rome.
Only two of the current world records, both men's and women's, were set before the introduction of polyurethane suits in 2008
And, with the ban being implemented in January, it is likely that many of the current records may not be broken for many years.
The return to common textile suits, men in shorts and women in suits above the knee and to the shoulder strap, would mean world records would be almost impossible to better in the short term.
The World Swimming Federation's decision came amid calls from a number of national swimming federations for record-breaking suits to be banned.
However, the question of exactly how to define "allowable textiles" is unlikely to be determined until the next Fina bureau meeting in September or October.

I think new swimming suits must be disabled, because new world records are coming and coming.

I was on the school swim team and the cross country running team at school.

Now I prefer surfing but swimming is a great way to keep fit for surfing cos I live 4 hours from the surf now and can't do it every day.

I have heard that swimming exercises every muscle in your body, do you believe that?

I canhold my breathe for about 2.5 minutes if I am just relaxing but only around 1,5 if I am swimming hard under water.

I dont know if all your muscle are being used, but what is sure is that it is good for a lot of your muscles.
I am further not a very good swimmer, but I like swimming in my free time and under water I can swim like 25 m Cool
