Where can you download phpbb? Is it quite easy to manage and can I have it on my frihost account?

for me phpbb is the best. i try a lot like vbulletin, and my preference goes to phpbb

PHPBB is easy to use but isn't that good for a site with many users... and vbulletin is simply great with it's great moderator and administrator cp...
But u can't have vBulletin in a frihost account.... so u should use PHPBB
PS: SMF is also great
Can I upload the phpBB2 map at once at Frihost or do I have to do 1 file at a time, because very much hosts can't upload any maps. That's very anoying 
.

I dont know what you mean by a map.
But yes you can upload files thru the file manager in your Direct Admin control Panel.
You can go here http://cp.frih.net/
Sign into your account, and click on File manager and upload iles that way.
If you were to goto the directory you wanted to upload your file too. You can upload a <file>.zip.gz .
Then in your File manager, there is an option to 'Extract' the file. This saves time as you can upload 1 file and extract it on the server. Rather than uploading your file one by one from your pc.

Yes you can. You just need to have bondings verify the proof of purchase.

In danish (my first language) "folder" is called "mappe"...so i'm thinking fromegame means folders when he says maps

To upload a folder you could either use ftp, or zip it as a .tar.gz and use the filemanager to unzip it...
Yes I meant folders sorry, I'm dutch you see. 
phpBB3 is better than vBulletin and IPB put together.

I cannot recomend using phpbb3 online before it goes out of beta! It may still be very vulnerable to hacker attacks
but yea...phpbb is 1000000 times better than IPB and vB because its free!
Other than that, IPB DOES actually have more features...
I don't own vBulletin software but IPB does is lot easier to edit
files than phpBB plus it has more customizable options.
But phpBB is better because it is free and thats what most people want,
free stuff.
I am hoping to buy vBulletin and see how well it works and I've heard
its got soooo many options but the best part is it has a shop mod, arcade,
money mod, and sooo many other mods you can get for free.
SMF and YaBB were both hard to use but I still love phpBB.
It's the best Free forum software availible.

Additionally, phpBB3 really has more features than IPB... I have a working phpBB3 installation on my FriHost account (but it's not publicly accessable).
phpbb 3 is looking good... but somehow i like SMF better...maybe its just because ive been using if for a long time

There is nothing that rivals IPB 2.x in features except maybe vBulletin. Believe me, I used to use it on one of my sites.

I'll repeat what i've already said - the price makes all the difference!

)I also prefer phpBB over the others forum software, it just looks nicer and everything is logically placed unlike in some other forums.
