Science Vs Religion!!!!!!!!

hmmm,
Science, study of anything by the help of experiments, hypothesis, also can be called as factual study of any subject...
Religion, simply belief upon something or someone....
in scientific study we deal with facts n figures, theories, practical analysis n then come to conclusion..

but in religion we believe on something n we develop some kind of commitment towards it n develop own own philosophy. n follow them..

but Eienstein has said once:
Quote:
Science without religion n religion without science is useless

sorry if i have misquoted this, but i guess its similar...

science n religion co-exist ...
even in our sacred books like Bible, Vedas, Kuran, Tripitak.... we can find lots of incidences where we can get some hints of scientific technologies used...
but after all religion is the science that deals with the study of beliefs of a person. Very Happy

Hmmm...

some religions like Christianity depend on purely faith. When science comes along, people like darwin, threaten Christianity.

In other religions, like Islam, science works well hand in hand, helping the religion. This explains partly the reason why Muslims grew so powerful until the 17-18th century.

All modern known science only confirms, not discredits, the Bible.

There still is no known proof for autobiogenesis. Not even for (macro-)evolution. Now THAT'S a belief without foundation in any science.
Sorry to say...

Well I think that Religion is for your spirit, and it helps you live and feel better. Science shouldn't be asocietied with religion and when it is, it leaves people confused, rather they should trust their religion or believe in Science. Scientists usually try to be sceptic and try to deny god. People should chose things which should thought of made by science, or created by god. (for example computer=sciece, earth=god) Smile I hope I make sense to everyone.

ya got the idea, the actual quote is "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind." - Albert Einstein, I have it saved in a group of quotes on my homepage.

ye-haw, I get to serve as the stereotypical view breaker. I, and many of my friends, in no way at all feel threatened by science, and many of us believe in evolution (since you mentioned darwin). My general view is if I am to believe that God is truely the creator of all things, that would include the natural laws. Of course that means understanding that the Bible isn't a science book, and needs to be understood within the historical context in which it was written, just like any email I send today would have to be interperated against todays context if it were read 2000 years from now.

However, there are people who claim the label "christian" who do fall into your stereotype. However, I know more people who fall into the same category as I do, and most of those who don't are admittedly "old school" believers, the most notably of which is a retired baptist preacher in his mid to late 50s and people who were in his congregation. Of course those are just my personal experiences and observations, and there are always outliers, and of course my experience and observations might not be correct of the much larger picture.

Totally, completely wrong. At least about the Christianity statement. There has not been one scientific finding that has disagreed or disproven ANY part of the Bible. In fact, science (despite some peoples' attempts to disprove the Bible) is only giving more and more credit to the Bible.

But that's not the argument meant to discuss here, so I will avoid a further comeback because that's not the point of this thread.

Science is conclusion based on observation.
Religion is conclusion based on observation.

The two are completely different, yet co-exist, and that relationship must exist for it to work out right.
