going one level up --> how to code that

I'm totally lost...

To arrange my files a little I made different directories and put files in it to have everything a little ordered. So my root is not that full of files. However, now I need to get a link to my index.html (in a Flash button) but I don't know how to get a level up...

my index.html is in the root. Now I have a folder--> Fotos...here I have my main index for the foto page. In this page I have a flash button that says HOME, to go back to the homepage...but as my foto_index.html is within Fotos\foto_index.html How do I make the link correct to index.html?

I tried:
\\index.html
/index.html

But these do not bring me back to index.html do I need to put the whole address like: http://www.*****.Frih.net\index.html ??
raver
try ../index.html.
For the record i would suggest a different approach. Try keeping all of your html together in one folder, your photos in another folder, and so on. It would be much easier to get around them Smile

THAT'S THE TRICK!! Thanks mate...I knew it was something easy, but just could not come up with it, neither find it in Google...You saved my ass !!

I agree with you to keep important stuff in the root, but I just had to do some cleaning up...
