Some emails I get (all from Myspace, though I don't think that's important), have the subject as '=?iso-8859-1?Q?.....actual subject...=?' which is vastly annoying. I think it's an encoding problem but don't know how to solve it and google has failed me. I use evolution on ubuntu 6.06. Any ideas?
Email problem - =?iso-8859-1?Q?
It doesn't allow space...
Correct this by changing your default character encoding set from ISO 8859-1 to US ASCII and see if that works.

Where do you suggest I change this?
