Not able to recognize USB after installed WindowsXP SP2 !?

Dear member,

Please help ! Sad

I have ugpraded to WinXP SP2 last month. However, after the
upgrade, the PC does not recognized the USB posts. I have tried
to install the drivers, download latest drivers, and uninstall and reinstall
the drivers, still fail to recognized.

The PC guys that I met suggest to re-install the whole WinXP... Crying or Very sad

If these came with the computer it could be possible that the drivers are standard and use WinXP preinstalled drivers. Possibly you may need to remove the hardware from your system then shutdown and reinstall it. If nothing happens make sure all of your other hardware is working. If all else fails reinstall from sp1 to sp2 (get updates for sp2 only to save time )

When you say "the PC does not recognized the USB posts." do you mean USB ports?

What are you trying to plug into them?

Do the USB ports (root hubs and controllers) show up in device manager?

You might also want to make sure that you have the latest motherboard chipset drivers installed as well. I know that at least the Via chipset can be a pain after installing SP2 without reinstalling the latest chipset drivers as well (from viaarena.com)

again check ur ports from the bios....if its enabled then uninstall SP2 and go bak to SP1 and then reinstall SP2
