Discussion ABOUT “Political Phil: What is [Not] Fair?” topic

The Philosopher Princess
The sibling topic to this one is Political Philosophy: What is [Not] Fair?. They go together. Some posts here might have been moved from over there.

You are welcome to post directly to here as well. This is the place for discussion related to the other, main topic -- but the strictness of discussional guidelines of seriousness and sincerity are loosened here.

Does anyone want to sympathize with a disappointed princess whose best-laid plans didn’t materialize? I had really counted on the poll of this post in the sibling topic, being a software-implemented poll. It would be 27.4 times (Wink) more interesting to viewers if it were an actual poll, don’t you think?

Can’t you just picture those 19 choices up there? And can’t you imagine others being fascinated with so many serious options? I spent a fair (Razz) amount of time creating reasonable choices. But as a regular post, it just blends in as another boring post. Sad Many people who won’t go to the trouble of posting text there, would have at least answered the poll question, and the rest of us could have extra, possibly very interesting, information.

I have only myself to blame. I should have checked out more fully, whether it would work or not. The truth is, I had verified that 19 choices were, in fact, possible -- but I’d only tested it to the stage of previewing it. Everything works fine in the [Preview]. Since that test worked, I finished writing up the poll text and the first post. But when I put it all in, previewed it, and then pushed [Submit], viola!: too many options! error message.

Like I said, no one’s to blame but myself. At least a couple of brave thinkers (jipmerite, Bikerman) showed up over there anyway. Very Happy Life goes on! Very Happy

so, my point here is regardless of your topic whatever princess you would be... you know people usually are posting topics for interactivity not for dump thoughts or for increasing in points.. i mean come on anyway they will be gone in a specific time period... therefore try at least to not post your stupid topics if you cannnot find anything smarter... plus avoid the usage of thread topic or other sh.. words with the same meaning. come on now what are you 8? another thing about you is that your topics are mostly for others usage ... therefore try to have somewhere less than 50% of the post authored by you... you know there is private mesages... and yes you CAN use it. well this being said i'd like to trimit in nahui but i think that the authorities might not agree Laughing (oh and usually not the name of a person creates its gratitude but its wiserness Question )

Err...am I correct in thinking that this poster is calling a) the topic stupid, b) princess a kid and thread hog ?

I can't understand the last bit...the name of a person creates it's gratitude? The name's gratitude ? The person's gratitude ? The gratitude of the 'trimit in nahui' perhaps ? (Sounds like an ethnic Indian dance)...
Have I understood the point, I wonder...?

Ah well....

I don’t understand much of what codenameshypher is saying, but that’s okay. I do think I detect some strong opinions, which I moved here because, though they seem very on-topic for this thread (which is about our discussion of political philosophy), they do not seem on-topic for the main thread.

In fact, that’s why I create sibling topics: So that people can discuss related things that are not on the main topic (in this case, the main topic being what is fair within political philosophy). There is a place for (almost) everything Very Happy.

I'm picking up on your methods - a la sibling postings. Up to now I have not spent enough time looking around in general since most of my time here has been spent in the science forum answering and debating....

Cheers
