I just talk - person to person. I tell them of the miracles of God, how He can work in their lives, what He's done in my life, and usually recite John 3:16 because of it's impact.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

A few years ago, the Church officials decided on a new way to evangelise since non-believers had gotten a-hold on the old way. They looked through the Bible and found the way that Jesus used it Himself: Talk to the heart and not the brain, so that you can get them thinking about the way they have lived and not have to worry about them trying to oppose you.
What Church are you refering to? If talking about the Catholics, the so called 'renovation', also on the matter of evangelisation, took place more than 50 years ago, so it's not that new
I don't talk to strangers on the streets simply because I don't think it would make any effect. There are enough Jehova witnesses in my country to make everyone have enough of strange people talking about the Bible.
Instead, I have a very difficult task to talk with my friends about God. The most of my schoolmates are atheists and for some time they were going mad when they heard, for example, that I cannot meet them as I have something to do in my church. The easiest way to solve this problem would be just to leave them, but I like them very much anyway. I couldn't just come to such a person and say 'Jesus loves you', as after something like that they would hate the church even more. That's why at first I was just talking with them about the sense of life, the true love [cause as you know God is the essence of love] and the universe. The word God came much later.
No, I didn't convince them, but at least we could get known and accept one another's points of view. And I discovered that the way you call or imagine God is not as important as your attitude or aim of your life. Because everyone truly searching for the Truth, the Love or a right Way of life will finally find God at the end.
[One of those friends, who hated everything about the Church, told me that she would teach her children the Decalogue as it's the most fair and unversal law. That was a shock indeed
]
No, no; not the renovation, it's the newest change in evangalism (it's not just the Catholic church). Also, I am not talking about telling people thay are sinners and screaming in their face that they are going to Hell. I mean, I just go to events and meet people. I talk to them and earn some trust, make a conversation over the news and sports, etc. Then, I move into the supernatural side of talking and ask them something like "So uh, do you have a Christian background?" I am trying to convert the conversation, but not offend them or come across as a 'fanatic'.
Then, I talk to their concience by going through a few commandments: ever told a lie, ever stolen, ever committed adultery, ever used the LORD's name in vain? Then, if they say yes to the above, I tell them that by thier own admission they are a Lying, theiving, adultering blasphemer. It gets them thinking ad if left alone with their thoughts, it can change the way they think about their life.
Try it, I'm sure it will work (except for those stubborn few who can't get anything into their heads).
When I'm not strapping a bom... err, wait, word of mouth. Yes.

Hey read the title, this topic is for Christians. I don't have time for you stubborn atheists, and trying to make you see.

Since God is allmighty he can have as many sons as he wants. Another thing is that Jesus's suffering wasn't that bad comparing to some happening in the world these days.

Since when is it forbidden to post in any topic anyone want?
Another thing is when its just for spam, but wouldn't you want to know the opinion of those so called stubborn atheists what would be effective on them? Prolly nothing but anyway.

Now you're getting the point.
But you're mistaken if you think I disbelieve or deny the existance of God. Just because I don't practice Christianity or Islam doesn't mean I'm an Athiest.
I believe in God differently than you likely do, so don't pass judgement, and don't try to 'make me see'. I hate that crap.
I use 50mg truth/hr by central line and syringe driver, but if they are on the move i usually give 100mg orally
this is called the internet and it is a place without borders you are posting on a public message board, so what exactly do you expect?
perhaps if you werent so high and mighty then you wouldnt get so much flak? oh yeah but that would be common sense
and anyway my mummy taught me to never take dogma from strangers...

That was not like this, I simply gave up on my topic; you all can still post about it, I don't really care. I had asked him to close that topic so that is why he posted that.
And you are all wrong, I never said I was a Christian.

or your picture.
I mean this: I call myself a Christian, but I'm not. I've tried to act like one, can't do it. So all of those links you've just shown, aren't true. As for my picture, I believe in Christ and everything you've said...but I'm no Christian.

so first (in other threads) you say you are a christian, and now in your previous post in this thread you say "I never said I was a Christian", and now you say you call yourself a Christian, but you're not. Does that make sense in your head, cause it doesn't in mine.
thpn wrote:

meaning you were lying back then and are being truthful now, or you've changed from those previous posts to the rather confusing place you're at now?
thpn wrote:

everything I've said pertaining to what? and where did it say it?
Maybe an explaination of your definition of Christian and how you don't meet that definition would be helpful.
I try to use the same things that you do, thpn. I love talking to strangers, because you get to see the great uniquness in all of God's children. It is a great way to go about it, because you get the best of both worlds. You make a new friend and have tried your best to bring them towards your way of life, so you have something alike already!
P.S. thpn has cracked under the pressure and asked to be deleted from the forums, you can see for yourself on the "Request an Account Change" forum

He could, but He doesn't. God had one begotten Son to die for our mistakes. And his suffering wasn't that bad? Perhaps you should pick up your Bible, or better yet watch Passion of the Christ which shows the horrible scourging Jesus endured, the crown of thorns being beaten into His head, the crucifixion. Did you know that to crucify someone was so horrible that a new word was created? Excruciating, meaning "out of the cross" or similar.
And I'm not saying that Passion of the Christ is an accurate picture, but it's a good likeness I'm sure.

Come on guys, quit giving him a hard time. Sure, he had a little break-down but who here hasn't? Besides, he left this forum already. There's no point in continuing to torment him.
Reply what you please, but I won't fight back. I do not believe in fighting, ecspecially over the internet
. I mean, what good does it do

If he doesn't want another son its his problem. Anyway i said that Jesus's suffering wasn't that bad COMPARING to some. I didn't say that it wasn't bad, but believe me there are people suffering worse in today's world, and whats more they are suffering for far longer period of time.
is it just me or did he kinda really snap out of nowhere? maybe I'm missing something.

i want to make sure I understand this right. Starting a conversation with a stranger just to maniulate it to the point of getting them to admit they're a "Lying, theiving, adultering blasphemer" and then leaving them to thier own thoughts is your idea of trying your best to bring them toward your way of life? I'm also confused as to how that would qualify as having something alike, but thats more of an aside. Do you see that type of method backed by the Bible?
Also I think our definition of friendship is drastically different.

Well, I am sorry for confusing you. Thpn didn't include all of the way I use his form of witnessing. I begin the way he does, but after I have left them to their thoughts overnight, I talk to them again. Most of the time, they have had some change in them that makes them realize that according to the Ten Commandments they are sinners and if they are judged by God according to them also, they will spend eternity in Hell.
It is fine if you do not believe me, I am not here to try to change a nation...or a forum. I am simply stating the methods I use...since that is what this topic was about
.
P.S. All beliefs expressed in the above post represent what I think about the Bible, God, and His teaching.

how do you go about finding strangers again the next day? Or a week later, or a year later?

so its a fear based conversion. You get them to admit they've messed up, and then tell them they are gonna burn in hell for eternity unless they [insert religious cliche here], and you see that as being a biblical form of evangelism? Where do you see that in there? I can see some parallels with the Old Testament prophets, but that has nothing to do with evangelism since they were people called to call out all the crap the nation of Israel (the church) was doing, or more correctly weren't doing.
