linux on 8051

8051 is a special chip designed for embedded systems.
I want to develop a linux OS using this chip as hardware underneath. Just a console with very few functionalities.



Is it possible please guide I am feeling very helpless

I did some development with this chip in the past using my own tools.
They are some nice links in Google related to your question if you just try to search for `Linux for 8051` for example. You’ll see than that it depends not only on the chip used but also on the other supporting hardware e.g. board design and so on.
If you’re really interested to work on this topic please provide more details regarding your skills and hardware you’re intended to use. I’ll be glad to share my experience.
