This is from NASA!Here you can scan little creatures with electron microscope! The name of project is:Virtual Lab
| Quote: |
| Virtual lab allows users to pan around a sample and zoom up to 3,600 x magnification. There are also controls to control focus, brightness, and contrast. It effectively simulates a real SEM's set of controls. It serves as a very accessable alternative compared to the costs of purchasing and setting up a real Electron Microscope. |
So if you want to use them, and look samples,go here:

I want to own an electron microscope.
However, since I'm sure they're prohibitavely expensive, I'll stick with this for a while. I wonder, will they let me send them samples to put under the microscope?
*goes and checks*
Dern, dosen't look like I can.

Check eBay!
lol, Go eBay! It has everything lol. yeah, electron microscopes are cool, I once saw a picture of a dustmite magnified thousands of times bigger.

They are very cool. Years ago, when I worked at the university, I had access to a small one. Lots of bugs and biological stuff. I cracked open a few ICs also and it was pretty amazing.
NASA has cool programs to download. I've tried World Wind and i wasn't disappointed, so i would surely use this program too.
Could be cool to over magnify a braincell. We could see really neat stuff in there. Maybe we could saw a new idea
I've had a quick go on an electron microscope once, but it wasn't as fun as you'd think.
There is so much work (preparation, marking, finding your damn sample when you breathed too hard)
I wouldn't use it unless i needed to or i was bored.
yeah, even i would like to own one, though i guess its too expensive!!!
Yeah it would be awesome to have one... or a real good telescope would do it too
I've had the luck of seeing an electron microscope in action. One of my high school teachers took my class to a university where we had the chance to see that thing. Its really great and it would be even better to use it yourself
I used electron microscopes in a couple of my adv bio classes a year or two back. As someone already said, it isnt that much fun - too much work!
I wanna look at my own spit under this thing...
But need it download many samples...
... I don't like it.

Another cool imaging method is called OCT (Optical Coherent Tomography). You can see deep around 5 mm I think in tissue. I once put my finger under one of these, or on a tomato, you see the tomato skin, funny
.
it's certanly not in the list of my priorities.. that's for sure...
